NURSES DAY PROGRAM ORGANIZED AT TANTIA MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTER

A program was organized on the occasion of Nurses Day at Tantia Medical College Hospital and Research Center (Jan Sewa Hospital), Sri Ganganagar.

Retired High Court Judge Suresh Monga attended the event as the chief guest. He said that even if nurses face difficulties regarding service conditions, they should continue to fulfill their responsibilities honestly. Referring to two major strike incidents in medical institutions during his tenure, he said that in both cases the nursing staff understood their responsibility and returned from strike.

He said that the nursing staff handles medicine-related work and therefore their responsibility is very important.

Executive Director Dr. K. S. Sukhdev congratulated the nursing profession on Nurses Day. A two-minute silence was observed to mourn the demise of Nursing Superintendent Indraj Bhakar.

Medical College Dean Dr. Vijay K. Sehgal said that Florence Nightingale, known as the “Lady with the Lamp,” became a symbol of service. He said that the lamp lit by her should continue to remain illuminated. He added that while doctors diagnose diseases and begin treatment, nursing staff work to comfort patients and take care of them.

Chief Administrative Officer Prof. Baljeet Kuladia said that Florence Nightingale was the woman who established nursing as a noble profession. He appealed to the nursing staff to work with dedication and commitment.

Pediatrics Department Head Dr. Pushpendra, Senior Pediatric Expert Dr. Indradeep Kochar, Physician Dr. Aman Takkar and Microbiology Department’s Dr. Charu Nayyar also addressed the gathering.

Others present at the program included Medical Superintendent Dr. H. S. Monga, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Deepak Monga, Dr. Devendra Grover, Hospital Manager Vedprakash Chaudhary, HR Manager Nisha Joshi, Quality Control Manager Sunaina Gill, Deputy Nursing Superintendent Shriram along with many doctors and nursing staff.

A cake was also cut on the occasion. The stage proceedings were conducted by Marketing Head Bharat Chaudhary and Sharan Gill.
