A second-year MBBS student, Kirat, from Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College Hospital and Research Center in Sri Ganganagar, has been selected as a research team member at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

This marks another achievement for the institution, whose students are increasingly being chosen for research roles at international universities. According to Deputy Director (Medical) Gurbhajan Singh, Kirat, daughter of Ramandeep—was selected under the guidance of Assistant Professor Dr. Sahil Thakral from the Department of Forensic Medicine.

She will work on a systematic review project led by Professor Dr. Gordon H. Guyatt. The project focuses on evaluating and summarizing existing predictive models related to complications in obese patients. As part of the research, Kirat will participate in reviewing scientific literature, extracting data, assessing risk of bias, and reviewing the manuscript.

The achievement is attributed to the vision and leadership of Vice Chairperson Dr. Mohit Tantia. Previously, another student, third-year MBBS student Mishika Nagpal, was also selected for a research project at the University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland. Chairperson Sunita Tantia and Chief Mentor Dr. Vishu Tantia expressed their happiness and congratulated the students on their continued success.
