Drama performance at Tantia Medical College : Students spread awareness about leprosy prevention

On Tuesday, the Department of Community Medicine at Dr. S.S. Tantia MCH & Research Center, located within the Tantia University campus, organized a drama performance at Jan Seva Hospital to mark World Leprosy Day. Through the play, the public was informed that leprosy is not an incurable disease. After consulting with a doctor, it can be treated. Leprosy is not a disease that should cause fear or lead to distancing from the patient. Upon discovering symptoms, the patient should be promptly taken to the nearest doctor for treatment.
The students made a strong effort to raise awareness about leprosy, emphasizing that it is a treatable disease. The performance involved MBBS 2022 batch students who portrayed a woman suffering from leprosy, illustrating that leprosy patients should not be isolated and should receive immediate medical consultation.
The event, organized under the supervision of Dr. Priyanka Chahal, in charge of the Socio-Cultural Committee, saw participation from Community Medicine students Sachin, Rohan, Rahul Sharma, Reva Chauhan, Kamal, Pijus, Saksham, Priyanshu, and Saurav Pratap, who played key roles in the play.
