Prashant Jyoti | Sri Gangangar | 14 May, 2026

An awareness lecture on asthma and respiratory problems was organized for army personnel and their families at the Lalgarh Jatan Cantonment during Asthma Awareness Month. Guests Samita Patil and Mukhvinder Kaur attended the event.

Senior respiratory expert Dr. Sanjay Solanki and DM Pulmonary Medicine specialist Dr. Piyush Parik from S.S. Tantia Medical College, Hospital and Research Center (Jan Sewa Hospital) explained asthma, changes in the airways, its causes, symptoms, and treatment.

The doctors said asthma can be triggered by dust, smoke, cold air, and infections, but it can be controlled with inhalers and medicines. They explained that asthma causes swelling and sensitivity in the breathing tubes, making breathing difficult. Common symptoms include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Dr. Solanki said asthma can also be hereditary and is more likely in people with allergic rhinitis, sinus problems, or eczema. Dr. Parik stressed the importance of early symptom recognition, proper inhaler use, avoiding triggers, and regular treatment to keep asthma under control. At the end of the event, Samita Patil and Mukhvinder Kaur honored Dr. Solanki and Dr. Parik with mementos.
