ARMY OFFICERS DELIVERED LECTURES AT TANTIA MEDICAL COLLEGE

At Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, military officers from the Military Hospital, Sadhuwali encouraged students to join the medical services in the armed forces. Deputy Director (Medical College), Gurubhajan Singh, informed that the team included Colonel A. Rita Porkodi, Colonel Amit Pushkarna, Lieutenant Colonel Priyank Yadav, Lieutenant Colonel Murugesh A., Major Randeep, Major Kiranpal, and Raj K. Khrawas. They called upon students to join the Army Medical Wing and serve the nation. The speakers shared the history of the Army Medical Corps, mentioning that Mahatma Gandhi had also served in the Ambulance Corps in South Africa. They cited several other prominent national and international personalities who served in the military medical wing and were honored with gallantry awards. They provided detailed insights into dental services, nursing services, and various other aspects of medical care in the military. The officers explained the role and responsibilities of doctors in the armed forces. They also gave information about military hospitals, field officers, and the medical equipment available. Officials from the armed forces' medical services also spoke about battlefield medical care and described how medical professionals manage treatment under challenging war conditions. The speakers emphasized that courage is required at every step in the military medical services. They discussed the salary structure and the process of joining the military medical services. Medical Superintendent Dr. H.S. Bindra stated that a career in the armed forces is a great option. He also informed the students about the benefits of joining military medical services and the pension advantages available after retirement. Dean of the Medical College, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sehgal, welcomed the guests and mentioned that the military medical unit is dedicated to serving the nation. He highlighted that such programs are regularly organized to connect medical students with the military medical unit. He expressed his gratitude to the military officers for conducting the event at the college.
